HMU API

Deal flow, structured at the source.

Founders send you pitches with deal size, sector, deck link, and urgency, scored and ranked before you open your dashboard.

An investor inbox on HMU API rejects incomplete pitches. /pitch requires deal size, sector, one-liner, and deck URL. /intro captures who is making the intro and why. Warm intros score above cold PDF dumps. The job: See complete deals first. Ignore everything missing a deck or a number.

No deck, no card

Cold inbound that omits round size, sector, or a deck wastes Monday partner time. /pitch requires those fields. Incomplete pitches cannot submit. Associates stop chasing 'quick thoughts on this?' emails with a 40-page PDF attached.

Warm intros stay on /intro

A founder emailing from a mutual's thread is not the same as a cold PDF. /intro captures the referrer and the reason. Scoring boosts returning and whitelisted senders so a real intro does not sit under 30 cold decks.

Fund page or partner pages

Use one fund username if you want a single deal-flow inbox, or give each partner a page. Either way, Affinity and DocSend stay downstream. HMU API is only the front door.

FAQ for Investors & VCs

Can we require a deck URL?

Yes. /pitch can require deck_url. No deck, no submission. Associates stop chasing attachments.

How do warm intros stay warm?

They use /intro, not /pitch. The referrer names the relationship. Scoring boosts returning and whitelisted senders.

Does this work for a fund, not just a partner?

Give the fund a username (hmuapi.com/yourfund) and list partners as separate pages, or keep one fund inbox and route by sector in the dashboard.

What about existing DocSend / Affinity workflows?

Keep them. HMU API is the front door. Push scored /pitch cards into Affinity or a shared Slack channel.
